Banjar Hot Water

Location:
It is located at Banjar village, Banjar district, Buleleng Regency, about 1,5 kilometers from Banjar junction, 10 kilometers from the famous tourist resort Lovina or 24 kilometers from the closest city Singaraja. Just drive towards Temukus and you will see the signs showing you the way to the hot springs.

The shops sell the usual things such as bags, hats and shirts. Anyway, after crossing a bridge you will found yourselves in a beautiful flowered garden in which the ancient looking Banjar Hot Spring are located. There are three baths were you can puddle in 38ºC sulfur water. The first bath is filled with dragon statues spewing water, which then overflows in the second bath located lower. The first bath is shallow and seems to be slightly warmer then the others. Along the walls there is a small ridge where you can sit in the water.

Description:
It is supposed to be able to cure disease, so it is flown to a cute swimming pool. Surrounded by unique village nature near a Buddhist Temple. The hot spring (air panas) are only a short distance west of the monastery. Eight carved sandstones Nagas spew water from a natural hot spring into the first bath, which then overflows (via the mouths of five more nagas), into a second larger pool. In a third pool, water pours from three-meter-high spouts to give us a pummeling massage. The water is slightly sulfur and pleasantly hot, so you might enjoy it more in the morning or the evening than in the heat of the day. We must wear a swimsuit and you should not use soap in the pool. The whole area is beautifully landscaped with lush tropical plants.

Water from the first bath overflows into the second…
Be careful when climbing down the stairs though. The water is not that clear and the steps are not really visible.
Just like the other pools, the third pool offers a great place to soak in the warm water too. Here the water pours from 3 m high giving you a great back massage.
You are not allowed to jump in the bath nude and you can’t bring your bar of soap with you to the springs. This is not that surprising considering it would be a horrific sight seeing dozens of people scrubbing their armpits.Soak in hot sulfur water…
There are changing cabins and lockers just under the restaurant. If you feel like taking a shower, there is an open air shower right next to the hot springs. Here you can shower with 4 people at a time under a roof of flowers…

Accommodation & Restaurants :
In a wonderful setting on a hillside very close to the baths, the rooms at Pondok Wisata Grya Sari are clean and have outdoor bathrooms. Treks into the surrounding countryside can be organized from here. Overlooking the baths, Restaurant Komala Tirta does good, inexpensive Indonesian food.

2. Lovina Beach (or often simply Lovina) is a coastal area on the northwestern side of the island of Bali, Indonesia. The coastal strip stretches from 5 Km west of the city of Singaraja to 15 Km west Singaraja is the seat of Buleleng regency. The Lovina area contains the small villages (from east to west) of Pemaron, Tukad Mungga, Anturan, Banyualit, Kalibukbuk, Kaliasem and Temukus. It is becoming more popular with tourists but remains far quieter than the tourist hotspots of the island’s south side.
